ESPN claim Leeds United have made a move to sign Barcelona talent Ilias Akhomach on a free transfer in the summer, but face competition from AC Milan. It is said that Leeds may have to remain in the Premier League to convince him.
Akhomach, 18, has actually broken into Barcelona’s first team at this early stage in his career. He has played three times for the senior side but with his deal ending in June, he wants to find a club that will give him more senior game time.
Able to play on either flank, the eight-time Spain Under-19 international is well-regarded having come through the La Masia academy. Leeds are said to have spoke to him, with Victor Orta the man behind a move for the young Spaniard.
It is believed he has offered him assurances regarding game time at senior level. But, that a move hinges on Leeds staying in the Premier League. Milan have also shown interest, but have given no guarantees about senior game time.

It is not like Leeds have a lack of attacking youngsters coming through the ranks. Sonny Perkins has already opened his account at senior level, Mateo Joseph continues to earn regular senior minutes. Joe Gelhardt has gone out on loan.
The amount of young attacking stars has seen Max Dean leave the club on a permanent basis to join Mark Jackson’s MK Dons. So, while there is a pathway into the senior side, there are also a number of players vying for the same thing.
Given Akhomach is more of a winger than a striker, he may find he has more of a chance than the likes of Gelhardt or Joseph. But on a free, if Leeds can convince him over a move to Elland Road, then it is an absolute no-brainer.
