Italian journalist Rudy Galetti reports that Leeds United attacker Willy Gnonto has won the ‘attention’ of ‘numerous’ European clubs for his excellent form at Elland Road since joining the club from Zurich on deadline day last summer.
Gnonto, 19, took a bit of time to break into the side under Jesse Marsch. Despite being an Italy player, he was used a few times in the Under-21 side. But his cross for the winner against Liverpool on debut saw him come into the side.
Since then, Gnonto has become undroppable. The Italy ace scored his fourth goal of the season against Manchester United on Wednesday, clocking up his 14th game for Leeds on Sunday. He has become absolutely pivotal at Leeds.
The ex-Inter man has taken the Premier League by storm, especially in a side struggling at the bottom of the Premier League table. Bought for £5m, he is proving to be a bargain. Gnonto has a contract at Leeds until the summer of 2027.

But, with Leeds flirting dangerously with relegation – Gnonto’s future, like others, could be in doubt this summer. He will surely be targeted if the Whites go down. Galetti says he has ‘won attention’ from a number of European clubs.
Galetti: Leeds attacker Gnonto has won attention of European clubs
If Leeds go down, you would expect a number of Leeds players to leave. Weston McKennie will not sign permanently. Tyler Adams will go. Illan Meslier will go. Plenty will surely be sold, and right now, it is likely Gnonto is in that bracket.
Even if Leeds stay up, you would expect clubs to come calling in the summer window. Simply because, he has been so good. The second half to this season is so important and not just in keeping Leeds up, but the future of the club.
