CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs claims that Leeds United could make a late move for Leicester City star Ayoze Perez with the Spaniard struggling to break into Brendan Rodgers’ side – amid Leicester showing interest in Jack Harrison.
Perez, 29, joined Leicester for a fee of £30million in the summer of 2019. It came after clocking 65 goals and assists in 195 games for Newcastle. At the King Power, he has scored 15 goals and laid on 12 assists in 114 in league and cup.
The uncapped Spain star has only started 72 of those 114 games. With his contract at Leicester due to expire at the end of the season, his future is in doubt. It might be Leicester let him go in the next 48 hours of the transfer window.
Jacobs now claims that Leeds could make a surprise move to lure Perez to Elland Road. He says that a potential move is “one to watch”. This is amid interest from Leicester in Harrison, with the Foxes making an enquiry for the winger.

“One name to keep an eye on, potentially, could be Ayoze Perez. He hasn’t done well at Leicester but proved that, if given a run of form, he could be valuable to a Premier League club from his Newcastle days,” Jacobs said on Perez.

Jacobs: Leeds could make late move for Leicester star Perez
Leeds do not need Perez. He will turn 30 in the summer and the club have already signed Georginio Rutter, who was impressive on debut – albeit against Accrington Stanley. Leeds have options up top, in the 10 role and out wide.
Brenden Aaronson and Sam Greenwood are 10’s, while Harrison is playing in the middle. Cree Summerville, Wilfried Gnonto, Luis Sinisterra and Harrison are options out wide. Patrick Bamford, Rodrigo and Rutter can play up top.
The only conceivable way you could see Perez joining Leeds is if Leicester do make their move for Harrison. But even then, Leicester look set to bring in Tete from Lyon – a player Leeds were linked with. File this one as incredibly unlikely.
