Ben Foster has told his YouTube channel that Leeds United striker Rodrigo could now be worth between £40million and £50million after his brace against Tottenham – taking the “on-fire” striker to nine goals for the 2022-23 season.
Rodrigo, 31, had previously scored just 13 goals in two seasons for Leeds following his club-record move from La Liga side Valencia. But the Spain international has remained largely injury free this term, other than a dislocated shoulder.
Indeed, the Spain star was often used in attacking midfield or even out wide by Marcelo Bielsa. Injuries, and a spell on the sidelines with Covid hampered Rodrigo. But now, he is in his favoured position, and confident under Jesse Marsch.
Ex-England international Foster reviewed the weekend’s performances and was full of praise for Rodrigo. Despite his age, Foster claims that Rodrigo could be worth as much as £50million if he continues the rich vein of form he is in.

“Rodrigo for Leeds, my gosh, he is on fire. What a season he’s having. They’ve got to hold onto him. But again, Leeds seem to be that team where if somebody keeps smashing it, they’ll get bought. It’ll be £40-50m quid or whatever it is.”

Foster: Leeds striker Rodrigo could be worth £50million, he is on fire
Without a doubt, Rodrigo is on fire. Arguably, the best form of his career. He has been made part of the leadership group and with injuries and muscle strains out of the way, he is beginning to show why Leeds bought him in 2020.
Has he repaid Leeds the £27m that Victor Orta agreed to shell out for him? No. But he is certainly close to doing so with his goals this term. Including, five in his last four games. A shame, the World Cup break has halted his momentum.
