Leeds United Under-21’s coach Michal Pujdak has told LUTV that teenage goalkeeper Harry Christy is an “exceptional professional” and was “desperate” to play on Monday night as he kept a clean sheet in the 21’s 3-0 win over Derby.
The second string secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Derby as they strengthened their position at the top of Premier League 2. Sam Greenwood opened the scoring, before Joe Snowdon slammed in a second. Sonny Perkins, the third.
Christy had not featured for the 21’s at Premier League 2 level since September, with Kris Klaesson often the man in goal. With Michael Skubala now on the senior bench behind Javi Gracia, Pujdak has taken control of the Under-21’s.
Pujdak gave Christy the chance between the sticks and he certainly delivered, keeping his third clean sheet in what was only his seventh outing for the reserves. Speaking after the match, Pujdak was full of praise for Christy on LUTV.
“A really good performance for Harry. He was desperate to play. He didn’t have many chances this season, but he came in and is ready when called upon. Exceptional professional. We can count on him. He stood up like a top professional.”

Other than one shaky moment towards the end of the match when failing to catch a free-kick, that saw Kris Moore clear of the line, Christy was solid. A clean sheet will do him the world of good and it will not have gone unnoticed.
Doubts continue to surround Klaesson and his future at the club, given his lack of form in a Leeds shirt. Joel Robles is out of contract at the end of the season. So, it might be that there is an opening arising. Christy will be keen to take it.
