Leeds United are set to command £15 million to sell Robin Koch this summer despite reports he can leave on loan.
That is according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, who also reports talks remain ongoing between Leeds and Eintracht Frankfurt to strike a deal, with Union Berlin and Bayer Leverkusen also monitoring the situation.
It has widely been reported that Koch will depart Elland Road on loan this summer due to a clause in his contract that became active after Leeds’ relegation in May.
That would effectively allow him to depart the club for nothing with the 26-year-old out of contract at Leeds next summer.
However, Galetti has indeed disputed those claims by suggesting Leeds have asked for £15 million to sell Koch this summer, with interest growing in his services growing.
Leeds to command £15 million for Koch
As mentioned, Koch is not short of suitors this summer despite a disappointing campaign at Leeds in 2022/23, with Manchester United, Newcastle United and Napoli all also having been linked.
Napoli reportedly view Koch as a potential replacement for Kim Min-Jae, who is set to depart this month to Bayern Munich in a deal worth £45 million.
However, according to reports in Germany, Koch would prefer a move back to his native homeland as he feels it will provide him with the best chance of returning to the international fold, and allow him to become a leader.
If Leeds can negotiate his departure for a fee in the region of £15 million, then it would represent excellent business and give them significant funds to reinvest in the squad.
A host of players are set to leave Leeds on loan this summer, but if Koch does not end up being one of them, it is a job well done.
