Trusted Twitter page LUFC Youth claim that Leeds United playmaker Charlie Allen has picked up a hamstring injury, becoming the latest Leeds player requiring treatment – with as many as 10 first-team stars currently out of action.
Allen, 19, was surprisingly absent last Friday when the 21’s travelled south to face Brighton – as Michael Skubala resumed duties as U21 manager. His side secured an impressive 4-2 win, with Luca Thomas scoring a hat-trick.
Morten Spencer came off the bench to get another. But Allen, who has played for Northern Ireland’s U21 side on two occasions – but is yet to make his senior debut – was missing. Now, it transpires he has a hamstring issue.
It is another injury blow – and while not immediately an issue at first-team level, Allen is certainly knocking on the door. It comes after starring for the 21’s last term in their promotion win. LUFC Youth reported the news on Twitter.

Daniel Farke will certainly have taken a look at Allen. Last season, he played 24 times for the second string – having a hand in eight goals from midfield, playing in a number of different roles. A 10, deeper in midfield or even out wide.
The youngster, who joined Leeds from Northern Irish side Linfield in the summer of 2020 when he was just 16, has only managed to get on the first-team bench once – last season’s Carabao Cup loss to Wolves under Jesse Marsch.
But given his form last season for the 21’s, our seeming inability to replace players that consistently leave on loan, and lack of a no.10 – it might not be long before Farke calls on Allen. But for now, he will be recovering from injury.
