Leeds United take on Fulham in the fifth round of the FA Cup and Diogo Monteiro has hinted that he could be involved with a post on his Instagram story – posting a pre-match picture, that may suggest the Portuguese talent could feature.

Monteiro, 18, joined Leeds from Swiss side Servette in the January window. It comes after the three-time Portugal U19 international had broken into Servette’s senior side and played seven times. At Leeds, he has played twice for the 21’s.

But also, he has been on the bench in our last three League games. With Liam Cooper and Pascal Struijk missing with injuries and Diego Llorente going on loan to Roma, it sees Monteiro climb the pecking order quicker than expected.

Having been an unused sub against Manchester United at Elland Road, Everton at Goodison and then Southampton on Saturday – Monteiro may get his debut on Tuesday. Javi Gracia kept his cards close to his chest in terms of selection.

Leeds started with Robin Koch and Max Wober on Saturday. Perhaps a bit of a surprise to see Wober start on Saturday, after reports of a potential dislocated shoulder at Everton. But, he may be given a rest on Tuesday, ahead of Chelsea.

So, if Wober is to be given the rest – who could Leeds turn to? Well, Gracia said in Monday’s press conference that he will have the same players available to him as he did on Saturday. It means Cooper and Struijk are missing once again.

Kris Moore has starred in the 21’s, but Monteiro is best-suited to making the step up given he has already tasted first-team experience. It might be that Gracia hands him his debut – and his Instagram story suggests he will be involved.
