Joel Robles has sent a message to supporters on social media after Leeds United were relegated from the Premier League on Sunday.
The Spaniard has taken to Twitter after the 4-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur at Elland Road which confirmed that the Whites will be playing in the Championship next season.

Once again, there was little Joel Robles could really do as Leeds produced a shambolic defensive display. Sam Allardyce’s side were behind inside two minutes. And at no stage in the afternoon were Leeds in a position to move out of the relegation zone.

Ultimately, they were the only one of the three teams battling for survival to fail to win. It was an embarrassing performance – a fitting way for Leeds to fall out of the top-flight after three seasons.

The fans want the inquest to start immediately. And Joel has now become the first player to speak out on social media following the result.
The goalkeeper apologised to the fans for the side failing to keep themselves in the Premier League…
Joel is one of the only players who probably has little to apologise for. The goalkeeper only came in for his Premier League debut with four games remaining.
He did not do anything particularly spectacular after replacing Illan Meslier. But he seemed to be a solid presence between the sticks.
And if Illan Meslier is to leave this summer, then many would probably be content with Joel continuing as number one next season.
Unfortunately however, there are much bigger concerns Leeds must address before they give much thought to who is going to be starting in goal on the opening day of the new Championship season.
