Leeds star’s ‘future has changed in recent weeks’, now looks set to aid promotion bid

Colombian newspaper AS claim Luis Sinisterra is now set to remain at Leeds United this summer and aid the club’s bid to secure an instant return to the Premier League – with his stance on a summer move changing in recent weeks.

Sinisterra, 24, struggled last season. Joining the club as Raphinha’s replacement, he managed just 22 appearances for Leeds – with numerous injuries taking their toll. He did still score seven goals, the last a header against Leicester.

Leeds have waved goodbye to Robin Koch, Rasmus Kristensen, Diego Llorente, Rodrigo, Marc Roca and a number of other first-team players. But some players look set to stay, and quite surprisingly so. Tyler Adams, for example.

Now, Sinisterra could be set to remain at Elland Road. The report states that Leeds have always been keen to keep the winger despite relegation – and now, his future ‘has changed in recent weeks’. He looks set to remain at Leeds.

What a move if Leeds and The 49ers can convince Sinisterra to stay put. Dan James has returned to the club, as have Ian Poveda and Helder Costa. Jack Harrison, Cree Summerville and Willy Gnonto are also options out wide.

Gnonto and Harrison are still more than likely to go, and while Costa travelled to Norway – without playing due to only just returning to pre-season, like Max Wober – he is also likely to leave. Jorge Mendes is his agent after all.

Poveda – well his future is unclear. But it could be that Sinisterra, James, Georginio Rutter and perhaps linked-away Summerville could be the options on the flanks next season. Plenty of things could happen by August 6, out wide.
