Italian outlet SalernitanaNews report that Leeds United are one of a number of clubs looking at Salernitana star Boulaye Dia and underline the interest in the striker – by stating that Rodrigo could leave, with MLS clubs interested.

Rodrigo, 32, is about to enter the final 12 months of his Leeds contract. Having scored 13 goals this season, he is our top scorer and arguably, our best player this season. But, his long-term future at Leeds does remain unclear.

Certainly, if Leeds are relegated, you would expect the Spain star to depart. Leeds have interest in a number of strikers ahead of the summer window though it is unclear what happens if the club do suffer relegation next month.

The latest report states that MLS clubs and those in the Middle East are keen on raiding Leeds and landing Rodrigo. It comes after Leeds sanctioned moves for Mateusz Klich and Mateusz Bogusz to MLS sides DC United and LAFC.

Rodrigo could leave Leeds with MLS and Middle East clubs interested

So, Leeds have a decision to make. There is no doubt that Rodrigo will be one of a number of players to leave the club if we do go down. But if we stay up and survive, what do Leeds do with Rodrigo? Do we cash in this summer?

Do we keep him, given the fee for Rodrigo is hardly going to be much given his age – or do we even offer him a new deal? The best course of action is to accept we are going to make a loss and just keep him, but no new contract.

It all depends, though, on survival and then – what Rodrigo wants to do. The chance to go and earn a whole heap of cash may tempt the ex-Valencia man this summer. So, the player himself will have a big say in his future.
