As we enter the October international break, the Championship table is beginning to take shape with Leeds United sitting pretty in the top six after 11 games – and players are beginning to come to the fore.

Leeds have now secured five wins, four draws and two losses – keeping an impressive five clean sheets in our last seven league games. A different Leeds to the one that conceded at will in the 23-24 season.

Illan Meslier and the Leeds defence have been solid – Joe Rodon, Sam Byram and Pascal Struijk all at the top of their game. Ethan Ampadu is consistent, and both Glen Kamara and Archie Gray have shone.

But it is in attack where Leeds look most like a Premier League team. Cree Summerville, Dan James, Willy Gnonto, Joel Piroe and Jaidon Anthony have all scored goals – and created them for Leeds, too.

Rutter, though, has been our best. He has two goals and three assists in 10 League games for Leeds – but his link play and ability to bring others in is incredible. He could have had three assists on Saturday.

Instead, he ended up with none despite it being his cross that diverted to Dan James. So, a wonderful start to the season for Rutter. He’s included in the WhoScored Championship Team of the Season so far.

Plenty of other recognisable names are in there. Leicester’s Jannik Vestergaard and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Conor Chaplin of Ipswich – who scored against Leeds – and two players that Victor Orta sold.

Jack Clarke is on fire – five years after Leeds allowed him to go to Tottenham. Seven goals in 11 league games. Leif Davis is also in there, the left-back Leeds let join Ipswich 12 months ago, starring at Ipswich.
