Adam Forshaw has posted excitedly on Instagram ahead of Leeds United’s trip to Bolton on Saturday afternoon – but will he retain his place in the starting XI?

Forshaw, 27, started his seventh consecutive league game on Saturday as Leeds earned a narrow 2-1 win over Queens Park Rangers. Kemar Roofe scored a brace, including one from the penalty spot.

A £4.5million signing from Middlesbrough, Forshaw dropped into the holding midfield role against QPR because Kalvin Phillips was used as a centre-back, in place of captain Liam Cooper.

Forshaw posted on Instagram in anticipation of Saturday’s clash. But the question remains, will he remain in Bielsa’s side?

Forshaw has been playing in an attacking midfield role, expect from the QPR win. However, he has failed to score or provide an assist this season.

Phillips struggled against QPR at centre-back and he may return to midfield where he is more comfortable. It means Bielsa either plays Forshaw in his normal role, or drops him for Samu Saiz.

With his lack of goals or assists, Forshaw’s excitement may be short-lived. Indeed, starting a more attack-minded Saiz would give Leeds the necessary ammunition to put a struggling Bolton to the sword.
