Sam Byram is not on trial with Leeds United after being invited back to Thorp Arch to train with the Whites.
That is according to a report from Leeds Live, which suggests that Leeds are not considering offering the 29-year-old a contract following his release from Championship rivals Norwich City earlier in the summer.

Sam Byram left Leeds more than seven years ago as the Whites languished in the second tier. Initially, he moved to West Ham. But he subsequently signed for Daniel Farke at Carrow Road.
Byram not on trial on Leeds
The right-back has now been released by the Canaries. And Leeds Live has reported that he has indeed been invited to train with Leeds.

However, it does not appear that Byram is in line for a second spell at Elland Road. Leeds Live claims that he has been given the chance to build up his fitness and is not being considered as a potential signing at this stage.
Of course, it is hard to rule anything out in the transfer window – particularly if Byram is working alongside Farke and the squad.
But it is hard to see where there is a place for the former academy graduate in the squad. Unfortunately, his career stalled after his move to West Ham. Injuries have meant that he has actually failed to make 100 appearances in the years since he left Leeds.
And the Whites are well-stocked at right-back with Cody Drameh and Luke Ayling currently vying for the position. And if Drameh leaves, you would like to think that the club will look on the market.
Byram can play at left-back. But after years of watching Leeds struggle to adequately fill the void in that position, signing a natural right-footer for that role will not sit right with supporters at all.
Hopefully Byram can secure a decent move and enjoy some luck over the coming years. But it seems to be the right call for Leeds to not look at a permanent deal at this time.
