Ethan Ampadu has made a wonderful start to life at Leeds United, playing every single minute of the 23-24 campaign – and his early form has really impressed Basketball ace and 49ers investor Larry Nance Jr.
Ampadu joined Leeds from Chelsea in the summer after four years out on loan – away from Stamford Bridge. The 22-year-old has spent time on loan at Leipzig, Sheffield United, Venezia and then Spezia.
Joining Leeds for £7m, he has already made himself a lynchpin in Daniel Farke’s Leeds side. During the break, he played another 140 minutes – as Wales kept two clean sheets against South Korea and Latvia.

Ampadu now returns and for the first time since joining leeds, he has midfield competition. Glen Kamara and Ilia Gruev have also been on international duty with Finland and Bulgaria. Archie Gray of course, too.
“I’ve been paying attention to his development. Really like him. He’s slotted in so easily, and effortlessly. With Liam Cooper out, he has been my favourite player for sure,” Nance Jr told podcast Leeds That.

What a signing he has been. Considering he is a player of massive experience already at 22, and has the ability to play in numerous different positions – Leeds have got him for a bargain at £7m, rising to £10m.
He is a key player in this Leeds side, now. If Farke can get Leeds back into the top tier this season, then he will be central to that. Can Leeds and Ampadu do it? Well, a run of games need to be put together.
