Leeds United are set to appoint Gretar Steinsson as their technical director following the former Iceland international’s departure from Tottenham Hotspur.
That is according to a report from the Daily Mail’s Transfer Confidential, which notes that the 41-year-old was spotted around the club last week.

Leeds, of course, are still yet to officially replace Victor Orta following his departure towards the end of the calamitous campaign last year. But it seems that that search could end with Gretar Steinsson.
Leeds set to appoint Steinsson
The Athletic reported in June that Steinsson was in line to leave Tottenham Hotspur after serving as their performance director.

And it seems that he has taken little time to find his next role. According to the Daily Mail, Steinsson is in line to take over at Leeds as their technical director.
Intriguingly, the report adds that Steinsson is one of a number of new staff set to come in at Elland Road over the coming days.
It will obviously boost Leeds’ hopes of enjoying a good window if a number of appointments are made. Of course, it is not ideal to make several in a short space of time. But these figures will already have an idea about potential targets.
If Leeds can keep a number of the existing squad and add a few exciting signings, it could be a really decent year for Daniel Farke’s side.
But it is slightly concerning that many Championship sides do appear to be getting stuck into the market and bringing in new signings with the new campaign looming.
Hopefully, the seemingly-imminent appointment of Steinsson will allow Leeds to really kick their summer plans into a higher gear.
