TeamTalk claim Leeds United are ‘poised’ to complete the signing of Brighton star Facundo Buonanotte for 2023-24 season – but, that the Whites have not been able to include a permanent clause in the loan.
Buonanotte, 18, joined Brighton in January from Argentine side Rosario Central – scoring four goals and laying on two assists in 34 games. It saw Brighton come calling in January, buying him for a £10.6m fee.
A one-time Argentina international, Buonanotte did play 14 times for Brighton following his move. But the competition at Brighton has seen them willing to go on loan. A move is now expected to go through.

A report from TeamTalk says that while Leeds are agreeing a move for Buonanotte – the 49ers would prefer to sign him on loan with a permanent option. Brighton are only willing to send him on a dry loan.
Leeds poised to sign Buonanotte, permanent clause not included
So, it sees Leeds finally sign a no.10. A position that is lacking in quality. Brenden Aaronson has gone on loan to Champions League side Union Berlin. Sam Greenwood has been injured for the last few weeks.
It has seen Joe Gelhardt and Ian Poveda used in the 10 role – but Gelhardt is struggling for form and Poveda is naturally a winger. Leeds need a new no.10. A key role under Daniel Farke, while at Norwich.

Emi Buendia starred in that position, as did Todd Cantwell – as Norwich were promoted twice. Getting a player with Buonanotte’s quality – even though he is incredibly young – is a brilliant bit of business.
However, failing to secure a permanent clause is a blow. Brighton, understandably, will want to keep him and just get him some minutes. Leeds, for now, will have to accept just having Buonanotte temporarily.
