Leeds United man Willy Gnonto has reacted when asked about his future by Sport Mediaset this week. The young winger said he has already realised his dream – and also admitted to having “many flaws”.
Gnonto, 19, remains a key player at Elland Road despite trying desperately to leave in the summer and even refusing to play in games against Shrewsbury Town, Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion.
But he has returned to the fold and played another crucial role in Leeds picking up a win at Millwall – he was involved in our first, laying the ball to Georginio Rutter, who found an onrushing Joel Piroe to score.
Of course, Gnonto was linked with Everton in the summer, Freiburg in Germany and many Serie A clubs. Since the window, Napoli Calcio Live claim that Fiorentina and Sassuolo are eyeing a January move.
Now, Gnonto has been asked about his future and his dreams. He said he has realised the aspiration of playing for Italy but there are many other goals he wants to achieve – and wants to cut out his “flaws”.
“Dreams? Making my debut with the national team was the biggest one, the dream of all children who start playing and I was lucky enough to realise it very early. But I have many other goals,” Gnonto said.
“It’s difficult to say where I can improve, I think in everything. I have many strengths, but many more flaws. I know I also have a lot of time to grow and I try to do it every day,” he added, on Sport Mediaset.

Leeds need to match Gnonto’s ambitions. They have forced him to stay put this summer, but if the club cannot gain promotion next time around then they may have to accept a sale. Promotion ends that.
If the Whites go up, then Gnonto’s ambitions will be matched – at least, for another season. There is no doubt that Gnonto will end up at a big European club, but as long as Leeds can climb, he will stay put.
