Leeds United are planning a move for Charles De Ketelaere with the forward now open to leaving AC Milan this summer.

That is according to TEAMtalk, who report that the Whites are ready to make a fresh bid to sign the Belgian after missing out during the previous summer window.

Charles De Ketelaere was heavily linked with an Elland Road switch last year. However, as reported by TEAMtalk, he joined Milan in a £29 million deal.

Unfortunately for the 22-year-old, it has been a miserable season with the Rossoneri. He is yet to score a single goal and only provided one assist in all competitions.

Leeds back in for De Ketelaere

The report claims that he is now open to leaving. And Leeds remain admirers, with Vincent Kompany also keen to bring him to Turf Moor after Burnley sealed promotion.

Of course, Leeds’ hopes of finally signing De Ketelaere will be dashed if Javi Gracia’s men cannot stay up. And the situation is now looking a lot bleaker after what happened on Sunday.

But Leeds do have enough to keep themselves in the league. Having said that, the idea of signing De Ketelaere will not appeal to a number of fans.

He is undoubtedly an outstanding talent. Andrea Radrizzani himself, told The Athletic that he was ‘special‘ after missing out on a deal.

But he has had a really tough year in Italy. And Leeds are in a strong position when it comes to attacking options. Other areas of the squad however, are much more concerning.

With that, much will depend on what Milan want for De Ketelaere, as well as what kind of budget Leeds are working with.

Because clearly, a lot of work lies ahead over the coming months.
