Leeds United have been linked with a number of Wales stars this month with Daniel Farke’s side boasting three of Rob Page’s men already – and now, Bournemouth’s Chris Mepham is a target.

Dan James, Ethan Ampadu and Joe Rodon currently reside at Elland Road, the latter on loan but a player that Leeds will be desperate to sign permanently. Leeds are expected to be busy in the January window.

That is according to TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook, who claims that it came as a surprise to hear Daniel Farke say that the Whites might not be that busy. He claims he has been told there will be activity, on GMS.

Not only that, but Leeds are also keen on Wales defender Mepham – who has lost his place in Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth side this term. Just two League starts, for a player Scott Parker said is “fantastic”.

With Euro 2024 approaching, Mepham will be hoping to get some game time in the second half of the season – wherever that is. Crooks says Leeds are admirers of the Bournemouth man, this month.

“It’s interesting because the manager said they’re not going to do much to this window because he’s happy with his squad. But I’ve been told by people actually they’re going to be quite ambitious.

“You mentioned David Brooks, Chris Mepham of Bournemouth is someone else I think they admire. Having sent Djed Spence back, you’d have thought they’ve got a full-back lined up,” Crook told GMS.

Leeds want to sign Bournemouth and Wales star Chris Mepham

With Leeds already boasting a trio of Wales stars, there is no surprise that Leeds have been linked with more. But with the addition of Mepham, that is now five potential Welsh signings in the January window.

Bournemouth teammates David Brooks and Kieffer Moore have been linked. Burnley’s Connor Roberts and Forest’s Neco Williams, too – the latter a target back in the summer. Is a move for Mepham likely?

Right now? Probably not. Leeds have Rodon, Pascal Struijk, Liam Cooper and Charlie Cresswell. Even if Cresswell left, which he has been linked to do – do we sign Mepham, Rodon’s Wales partner? Unlikely.
