Leeds United are one of the sides considering a move for Ryan Fraser with the winger looking set to leave Newcastle United during the summer transfer window.

That is according to a report from the Sunday Mirror (9/7; page 74), which notes that Southampton are also admirers of the Scotland international.

Newcastle fans will not be at all shocked when Ryan Fraser leaves the club this summer. The 29-year-old has not featured in the Premier League since mid-October. Meanwhile, he has not even been on the bench for Eddie Howe’s men since February.

Leeds eyeing Ryan Fraser

In fact, it was reported by the Daily Mail shortly after that Fraser had been sent to train with the under-21s at St James’ Park after being frozen out by Howe.

He may get the chance to make a decent move this summer however, with the Sunday Mirror (9/7; page 74) reporting that Leeds and Southampton are both keen on the winger.

Leeds are currently well-stocked out wide. But it is likely that more players will leave by the time Daniel Farke’s men begin their Championship campaign.

Certainly, it would be a huge shock – and a very pleasant surprise – if Jack Harrison, Crysencio Summerville, Willy Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra were all in the squad beyond the deadline.

Meanwhile, there is also the likes of Daniel James and Ian Poveda in the ranks as things stand.

With that, it is hard to be particularly excited about the prospect of signing Fraser. He can be ‘very dangerous‘ on his day.

But it seems a very long time since he was tearing Premier League full-backs apart for Bournemouth.

Much will therefore, depend on which players Leeds manage to hold onto over the coming weeks.
