Leeds United are considering a move for Yussuf Poulsen this summer as Daniel Farke sets his sights on his first signing as the club’s new boss.
That is according to a report from the Daily Mail, which suggests that Farke is looking at players he knows well as he starts to shape the squad ahead of the new Championship season.
Yussuf Poulsen would be a real statement signing for Leeds if there was a deal to be done in this window. The 29-year-old has had a superb career to date, scoring 85 goals in 358 games for RB Leipzig.

Meanwhile, he is approaching 70 caps for Denmark.
The Daily Mail reports that Leeds are considering a possible move for Poulsen amid doubts over the future of Patrick Bamford.
Poulsen is not the kind of striker who is going to score bags and bags of goals. He has not scored more than six league goals in any of the last four campaigns.
And it must be noted that it will probably not sit right with some supporters if Leeds sign another player from the Red Bull network. Ultimately, that strategy has had very mixed results for the Whites over the last few years.
If Leeds were still a Premier League side, it probably would not be a deal which captured the imagination. However, it would send out a huge message if the club could attract him in the Championship.
The reason Poulsen has played so often down the years is because of how hard he works for the team. He was an important part of the Denmark side which came agonisingly close to reaching the Euro 2020 final.
And signing him may help tempt one or two players to stick around. He has previously spoken to The Athletic about how he thinks Tyler Adams is a great player.
So if Leeds bring players of his calibre in, it may give the likes of Adams and others a little something to think about.
