Leeds United’s lack of midfield options has been made apparent this week by Tyler Adams’ injury, and it should convince the Whites to be on the lookout for a midfielder – and Lorient’s Enzo Le Fee would be the ideal signing.
Adams has been ruled out for a number of weeks after having to go under the knife to correct a hamstring issue he suffered in training, prior to the international break. Stuart Dallas and Adam Forshaw also remained out with injuries.
It leaves just Marc Roca and Weston McKennie as senior options. Darko Gyabi and Archie Gray are less-experienced midfield options at Elland Road. So, this summer, Leeds could do with another signing in the middle of the park.
A report from 90Min says six Premier League clubs want to sign Lorient ace Le Fee – including Liverpool, Tottenham and Newcastle. The France U21 star’s deal ends in June 2024, and he is now keen on leaving the club this summer.
Rated at £15m, Le Fee is able to play as a no.10, box-to-box or in the holding midfield role. Indeed, he played as a midfield anchor in France U21’s 0-0 draw against Spain on Tuesday – alongside Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier.

Leeds lack of midfield options should convince Whites to look at Le Fee
Le Fee falls within the parameters of what Leeds look for in a player these days. Young, between the ages of 20 and 25, but experienced too. Coming through the ranks at Lorient, he has already played 135 times at senior level, at 23.
He offers versatility, technical ability and can cover not only Tyler Adams – but Brenden Aaronson and Marc Roca. Given he is on the radar of a number of Premier League sides and willing to go, Leeds really need to be in the race.
Especially because, he is a teammate of Meslier. Not only could it tempt Le Fee to join Leeds, but it may also have an impact on Meslier staying put. It should be a no-brainer for Leeds to be showing interest in the Lorient midfielder.
