Leeds United reportedly made a late move to sign new Tottenham signing Arnaut Danjuma in the January window prior to the Dutchman moving to Spurs – and now, the on-loan Villarreal star will surely be wishing he picked Leeds.
Danjuma was one of the biggest stories of the transfer window. The Nigeria-born 26-year-old chose to leave La Liga side Villarreal on loan in January. Heading to Everton on loan, he had even done media work for the Merseyside club.
But Spurs hijacked a move for the six-time Netherlands star. He joined Tottenham on loan until the end of the term, including a permanent clause worth £27million. But it has been a struggle since he swapped Villarreal for Spurs.
He scored on his debut having come off the bench in an FA Cup clash with Preston. But since, he has been given just three more sub outings. He has played less than 50 minutes in total for Spurs. So, did he make the right move?
Football website 90Min claim Leeds made a late move to sign Danjuma after an Everton deal was hijacked. Surely, a move to Leeds would have been much more beneficial to Danjuma, if he had ignored Spurs and chose Elland Road.

Leeds made late Danjuma move and he will be wishing he picked Leeds
Danjuma will be wishing he picked any Premier League club over a move to Spurs. A lack of game time, the utter chaos that is Antonio Conte’s future and being an unused sub in the last five league games will be devastating.
He is a quality player. Last season, he scored 16 goals in 34 games for Villarreal – six came in the Champions League. A move to Leeds would probably have seen him start up top over Patrick Bamford, with Rodrigo out.
His speed, his strength, his goals and his versatility to play as a 10 or out wide would have made him a real asset to Leeds in the fight against the drop. For that reason, Danjuma will be wishing he chose a Leeds, over his Spurs move.
