Leeds loanee’s side lose 12th game in a row, 3-0 defeat to another Leeds man and his brother

Brenden Aaronson‘s loan at Union Berlin could not have gone worse, so far. On Saturday afternoon, the Leeds United loanee’s side were beaten for a 12th time in a row – against Robin Koch‘s Frankfurt.

Aaronson, 23, was one of eight senior players to leave on loan in the summer. Taking advantage of the relegation loan clause inserted in contracts by Victor Orta. Koch was another, joining Eintracht Frankfurt.

So far, USA star Aaronson has managed 12 outings for Union. He has tasted victory just three times, with Union losing 12 games in all competitions in a row. He has failed to score a goal, or lay on an assist.

Instead, he has been sent off once and lost his place in the starting XI. It has been a completely different story for Koch and Frankfurt. The German defender is pushing for a return to Germany’s National Team.

The 27-year-old has started all 17 games for Frankfurt, completing 90 minutes 16 times. Only taken off at half-time in a Cup game, to be rested. Koch has scored two goals, and captained Frankfurt two times.

Eight clean sheets in 17 games, just 13 conceded – five to Leipzig, three to Dortmund. Frankfurt look a solid bet to qualify for Europe, again. On Saturday, Koch’s side beat Aaronson’s Union with ease, 3-0.

Perhaps even more embarrassing for Aaronson was that his younger brother came off the bench for Frankfurt towards the end of the game. Paxten made his entrance into the match, in the final minutes.

So, more bad news for Aaronson ahead of a week that includes Champions League football. Union are set to travel to Italy, to take on Napoli. Surely, another defeat is incoming for Aaronson’s struggling side.
