Leeds United take on Manchester United twice in the space of a few days this month but Scott McTominay has picked up an injury and it could impact Leeds – a player that has both starred against Leeds, and linked with a move to Leeds.
McTominay, 26, has played against Leeds four times in his career. He has picked up 10 points from a possible 12 – but on a personal level, he scored twice and laid on an assist. An impressive record, given he is not known for his goals.
But Erik ten Hag has a problem. Christian Eriksen has been ruled out until April, and now, McTominay is set to be out for the next couple of weeks. Ten Hag confirmed such ahead of their Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Forest.
Leeds themselves play against Forest on Sunday, before facing bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on the 8th – and then next weekend, the 12th. It could impact Leeds, despite Manchester United signing Marcel Sabitzer.

Manchester United have brought in the Austrian from Bayern Munich to replace Eriksen. But it might have been that McTominay was given the nod against Leeds given his previous form against us. Now, he looks set to be sidelined.

Of course, it is not only that McTominay has been a real thorn in our side in previous years. But it is also that the Scotland international has been linked with a move to Leeds. 90Min say Leeds had held talks to sign the midfielder.
While Manchester United still have Casemiro, the Old Trafford club look set to be without a player that has starred against Leeds. That can only be good news for Jesse Marsch and Leeds – despite the signing of Sabitzer on Tuesday.
