Mateusz Klich and Barry Douglas have long since left Leeds United but both clearly remain close and fans will love what they had to say to eachother on Instagram over the weekend – on Douglas’ Insta.
Klich, 33, left Leeds in January after struggling to get in to the side under Jesse Marsch during the first half of 2022-23. He has since played 36 times for the MLS side, having a hand in 11 goals from midfield.
Meanwhile, Douglas has spent the last three years in Poland with Lech Poznan. It comes after he went back to Poznan – previously playing for the Polish club for 18 months between January 2016, and 2017.
He boasts impressive stats of nine goals and 24 assists from the left side of defence in 123 games but injury has hampered his second spell Poland. Douglas posted on Instagram as he recovers from injury.
Leeds fans will love Douglas and Klich’s Instagram conversation
Klich and Douglas will like what they see. Having been crucial to our promotion season in 2019-20, Klich will have been impressed by Ethan Ampadu in his role. Douglas went on loan to Blackburn that season.
They will also be impressed with Daniel Farke, who has Leeds playing in a clear way – currently sitting in fifth place after a tumultuous start to the season. Leeds are looking for an instant Premier League return.
The Whites need to gain some consistency and find the winning formula most weeks if they are to keep pace with the early leaders, Ipswich. Hopefully, they can follow in Klich’s footsteps and gain promotion.
The duo swapped brief messages on the above Instagram post, over the weekend.
