Leeds United are reportedly interested in raiding Chelsea for out-of-favour striker Michy Batshuayi. It is an introduction that was first spouted out last season, and now the Whites are supposedly keen once again. The reports have been met with same, overriding reaction on Twitter from Leeds fans- a firm no for Batshuayi.

Batshuayi, 27, has endured a rough few years since completing a £33million move to Chelsea in the summer of 2016. Batshuayi has scored 25 goals in 77 outings for Chelsea, but many of those have come in cup competitions. He has gone on loan four times, to Dortmund, Valencia and Palace twice.

He spent the 2020-21 campaign on loan at Palace, but only managed two goals in 18 league outings. Somehow, Batshuayi finds himself in Roberto Martinez’s Belgium side – though his international form is much better than his club stats. Indeed, he has scored 22 goals in 33 Belgium caps.

What are Leeds fans thinking about Batshuayi?

Now, Leeds are interested. It is claimed by the Telegraph that Leeds want to sign a player that scored 11 goals in 29 games under Marcelo Bielsa at Marseille. Bielsa spent the 2014-15 campaign with the French club, and then the first game of the 2015-16 season before resigning.

Leeds fans have reacted to the reports on Twitter – after we posted it on our channel. It has gathered the same reaction from those discussing a potential move for the ex-Standard Liege man, a resounding no. That is, despite Nigel Martyn recently telling us that Leeds need cover for Patrick Bamford.
