Leeds United are big fans of Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres and plan to make a move whether they are in the Premier League or Championship next year, according to a report from TEAMtalk.

It really does feel that Leeds have taken their last shot in their bid to stay in the top-flight. The club have announced on Tuesday that Javi Gracia is the new head coach more than two weeks after Jesse Marsch was sacked.

Gracia has a tough task on his hands. Right now, Leeds sit in the bottom three. And their last few performances have hinted that they are running out of ideas in their bid to get out of trouble.

With that, Leeds may well be drawing two lists of targets depending on which division they are in next year. But it seems that one name will feature on both of those lists.

According to TEAMtalk, Leeds really like Gyokeres. And they plan to make a move as he approaches the final year of his contract with the Sky Blues.

The report notes that they set a £25 million asking price for the Sweden international. But Leeds believe that he could thrive in the Premier League or the Championship.

Obviously, Gyokeres has little more to prove in the second tier. He has scored 14 goals in the Championship this season. That includes two in his last two.

Leeds already have an impressive group of attacking players. Rodrigo has been a revelation this season. Meanwhile, we know that Patrick Bamford has the potential to do so much more.

Georginio Rutter has not had the best start to life at Leeds. But the club obviously think that he has a huge ceiling.

Gyokeres is unproven at the highest level. But he is an ‘unbelievable‘ talent. And he has the potential to improve further.

So this is one rumour we can get on board with.
