Junior Firpo and Marc Roca might remain teammates but both leave Leeds United this summer, with Spanish site Estadio Deportivo claiming that Betis are also interested in landing left-back Firpo in the next couple of months.

Roca, 26, is expected to leave Leeds this summer, with Spanish newspaper AS reporting that Manuel Pellegrini’s Europa League side are pushing hard to land Roca on a loan deal. It is unclear if a deal can be made permanently.

So, Roca could leave Leeds after a year, for Betis – a return to Spain three years after leaving Espanyol, having gone to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2020. Now, Estadio Deportivo report that Firpo could join Roca in joining Betis.

Firpo is arguably our best option on the left side of the defence, but the club do have options to replace him. It is unclear if Betis would look to re-sign Firpo permanently or on loan. But it might be that Betis sign Firpo and Roca.

Firpo, of course, impressed at Betis before joining Barcelona – clocking up 12 goal involvements in 43 games for the La Liga side. He scored five and laid on seven, but he has managed just 51 games in his two seasons at Elland Road.

It is a good move for both players. Given, they struggled in the Premier League and got relegated – something not even starting for us – to then leave the same summer and join a club in Europa League competition. Huge moves.

Firpo might have more of a chance of starting given the options at Betis. Meanwhile, Betis are strong in the middle of the park and that may see Roca play back-up – but, he would get game time with Betis in European competition.
