A report from TeamTalk claims Leeds United target Brandon Williams is set to ignore a reunion with Daniel Farke at Elland Road – and instead, join Saturday’s opponents Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
Ipswich have made an excellent start to the 2023-24 campaign – with Kieran McKenna’s side winning all four matches. They sit top of the Championship, after league wins against Sunderland, QPR and Stoke.
Leif Davis has been shining on the left of the Ipswich defence. But, it seems McKenna wants competition at left-back and is set to bring in Williams. McKennie has utilised his Manchester United connections.

Williams, 22, managed just one outing for Manchester United last season. Entering the final year of his contract, Leeds were considering a move – as per The Independent. But he is now off to Ipswich Town.
The report from TeamTalk say he is set to join Ipswich on loan from Manchester United. It is perhaps a bit of a strange signing, in that Davis has been so strong. Williams though, can play on the right flank.

Williams is a good Championship player. But he has had his injury issues and last season, played only once for Erik ten Hag’s side. Is he good enough for Leeds? He is probably not the long-term answer.

You would expect that on his arrival, Davis will remain first choice. Indeed, Leeds remain in the hunt for a left-back and if we were to sign one of Ipswich’s left-sided options – Davis would be the better signing.
But as things stand, Leeds are focused on bringing in a midfielder. While a left-back is still needed, one of our options – in Williams – is now off to Ipswich for the 2023-24 season. His deal ends in June 2024.
