Feyenoord manager Arne Slot is reportedly on Leeds United’s managerial radar this week as the club look to bring in a replacement for Jesse Marsch – and hiring the Dutch gaffer would finally see Luis Sinisterra start to prove his £21m fee.
With Marsch sacked on Monday, Sinisterra may feel some guilt. The Colombia star, bought as Raphinha’s replacement, had two glorious chances to score for Leeds at The City Ground. But his first effort was saved – then missing a sitter.
The second chance was a glorious one, created by Luke Ayling and Willy Gnonto. But somehow, from six yards, he blazed over Keylor Navas’ bar. Leeds lost 1-0, and it saw Marsch sacked. Sinisterra has so far, failed to prove his outlay.
He has shown glimpses. His goal against Everton and four goals in total. But a hamstring and a foot injury, as well as a red card against Villa, have meant Sinisterra has struggled so far. Sinisterra needs a solid second half to the season.
But, Leeds could give Sinisterra the platform to return to his best, with their next managerial decision. Slot, of course, managed Sinisterra during the 2021-22 season. It saw Sinisterra produce his best season to date; 24 goals, 13 assists.

Arne Slot would finally see Luis Sinisterra prove £21m Leeds transfer fee
The Times claim that Leeds have whittled down their managerial shortlist to three. Marcelo Gallardo, Rayo Vallecano’s Andoni Iraola and Slot. The Dutch gaffer is shining in his role as Feyenoord manager, after joining the club in 2021.
In his first season with Sinisterra, he guided Feyenoord to the Europa Conference League final – losing 1-0 to AS Roma. This season, Slot is pushing Feyenoord to an Eredivisie title – ahead of Ajax. Feyenoord sit two points clear at the top.
But with Sinisterra clocking up 37 goal involvements in his only season under Slot, it might be that Leeds hiring the Dutchman would see the Leeds ace produce his best form, again. It might be a consideration for the Leeds board.
