A report from the South London Press claims Leeds United, West Brom and Rangers are all said to be in the market for Millwall player Jake Cooper – with the powerful centre-back in the final year of his deal.
Cooper, 28, has spent the last six and a half years at Millwall – but in that time has managed to surpass 300 games in all competitions for the London club – amassing a huge 303. But his future is up in the air.
Not only a centre-back renowned for his impressive leadership, aerial ability and experience – but the Millwall defender is also impressive in the final third. He has scored 22 goals for Millwall and 17 assists.
The report claims that Leeds, West Brom and Rangers are all tracking Cooper with his contract situation up in the air. It would see Cooper reunite with Charlie Cresswell, with whom he partnered last season.

Leeds have options in the middle of the defence. The signing of Wales and Spurs star Joe Rodon has eased the lack of options. Liam Cooper is out injured, but Cresswell and Pascal Struijk are available.
So, it is hardly a position in which Leeds need immediate additions. But, if the opportunity arises to bring in Cooper – bags of experience, more than 300 games in the second tier – he’d be a solid signing for us.
It is unclear how much Millwall would want for Cooper, but given his deal ends next June, he will surely be available for a slightly cheaper price than he might have been. One to watch, but not a first priority.
