Lee Boywer makes prediction about a new Leeds player, praises manager Marcelo Bielsa

Leeds confirmed the arrival of Amari Miller earlier this week, in a deal believed to be in the region of £1.5million from Birmingham. Of course, the teenage midfielder worked under Lee Bowyer at Brum. Bowyer was full of praise of Miller and made a prediction – while also praising Marcelo Bielsa.

Miller, 18, joins Leeds and is likely to be integrated into the Under-23 side under Mark Jackson. Leeds 23’s gained promotion from the second tier of Premier League 2 as champions into the first division last term. They are expected to make a few signings and Miller is the first name to arrive.

The midfielder had broken into the senior side under Bowyer at Birmingham, playing five times last season. He will now be tasked with rivalling the likes of Jack Jenkins, Alfie McCalmont, Robbie Gotts and Jamie Shackleton for a place in the side. Though some of those could go on loan.

What has Bowyer said about Miller and Bielsa?

Discussing Miller at Leeds, ex-Whites midfielder Bowyer gave his verdict on Miller. He questioned what Leeds were going to do with him – but predicted that under Bielsa, Miller is only going to improve. Bowyer was also very complimentary of our Argentine gaffer, who is still yet to sign a new deal.

“That’s his decision, you know. He is a young lad. He has gone to a good club, I don’t know what they will do with him. But I have to say the manager there, what he has done is exceptional. If he is in and around the first team and training? Well, I have no doubt he will learn and improve,” Bowyer said.

“For his career, I wouldn’t say he has chosen a bad club to go to, I know a lot about the club, it’s an excellent club, but for his development, we will have to wait and see where it goes for now. A great lad, tries hard, good ability, so I wish him all the best because he is a really, really nice lad.”
