Leeds United have completed the signing of Glen Kamara from Rangers on a contract until the summer of 2027, our eighth arrival this window – and Kemar Roofe is among those to respond to the signing.

Kamara, 27, joins Leeds after four and a half years at Ibrox – clocking up 193 outings for Rangers since his move from Dundee. A part of the side that won the title unbeaten in 20-21. A Europa League finalist.

Not only is he a player with huge experience at club level following his time in Scotland – but also, for his country, clocking up a huge 52 caps for Finland. He has been regularly linked with an exit from Rangers.

Kamara has now left Rangers after being left out of the squad by Michael Beale for all of their games this season. The midfielder comes in as our eighth signing this summer, and our third signing in 48 hours.

Leeds sign Kamara: Roofe among those to respond to signing

Of course, Kamara has shared the majority of his time at Rangers with Roofe. The ex-Leeds striker has endured an injury-hit spell since arriving during Steven Gerrard’s reign from Belgian side Anderlecht.

Both were key to Rangers’ run to the Europa League final under Gio van Bronckhorst – a manager that was linked with Leeds following the sacking of Jesse Marsch. Now, Kamara has bolstered our midfield.

It will be interesting to see how Daniel Farke plays it. He now has Ethan Ampadu, Kamara, Ilia Gruev and Archie Gray as options in the middle. You would also expect Lew Bate and Darko Gyabi to go on loan.

Plenty responded – but among those was ex-Leeds striker Roofe, who sent a four-word message to Kamara on the Leeds post. Ex-Arsenal academy teammate, Everton star Alex Iwobi, also responded.
