Phillips lauds Archie Gray after wonder strike for England under-17s
Gray started at right-back and he produced an amazing finish to find the top corner. It was an emphatic strike, which led to something of a gasp from those in the crowd.

The teenager has since taken to Instagram to express his delight at the win. And amongst those to reply was Kalvin Phillips, who lauded the midfielder…

It is something of a surprise that Gray did not make his first-team debut this past season. Certainly, you got the feeling that Jesse Marsch had every intention of using him before the campaign began.
Unfortunately, he sustained an injury at the worst time. And by the time he was back in the fold, Leeds were in the midst of a relegation battle. So it would have been an awful time to throw him in.
Of course, Leeds fans would prefer this was not the case. But he is one of the players who is going to benefit from the Whites falling out of the Premier League.
Leeds need to overhaul their midfield options. Several players are likely to leave. And a few of the youngsters are surely going to be pushed up the pecking order.
You would like to think that Gray is going to get a chance at some stage. And it would seem that Kalvin Phillips will have one eye on his progress when that chance comes.
