Kalvin Phillips and Simon Grayson were amongst those to send messages to Fabian Delph on Instagram after the former Leeds United star announced his retirement from playing on Tuesday.
Delph had been without a club since leaving Everton at the end of last season. Unfortunately, the 32-year-old has had to deal with a number of injuries during his career. And he has now decided to hang up his boots.

Delph has had a brilliant career, playing over 200 times in the Premier League. He, of course, lifted the trophy on two occasions with Manchester City. He also reached the finals of both the League Cup and FA Cup while with Aston Villa. Delph would also make 20 appearances for England.
But obviously, it all started for the midfielder at Elland Road. Delph spent one season as a first-team regular with the Whites, helping the club reach the League One play-offs.

Unfortunately, that campaign proved to be where Leeds could get past the semi-final. And with that, Delph ended up leaving for Aston Villa. He would however, return for a brief loan spell in 2012. But injury would prevent him from making more than five appearances.

Understandably, there has been a raft of messages from former teammates following the announcement of his retirement. And amongst those to message was Phillips and Grayson.
Grayson managed Delph during the latter stages of his first spell. And he was also the manager to bring him back for his loan spell.
Meanwhile, Phillips has followed in his footsteps by coming through the Leeds academy before going on to play for Manchester City and England…
