Junior Firpo has taken to Instagram to drop a hint to Leeds United fans ahead of Saturday’s clash against Plymouth Argyle – suggesting possibly, that he could be set for his first outing this season.

Firpo, 27, has not played for Leeds since our 4-1 defeat to Tottenham – our final game in the Premier League before relegation. A lot has changed since then, a new-look team and Daniel Farke as manager.

The left-back was expected to leave the club in the summer, but Firpo remained – maybe because, he has been injured throughout. Now, he is fit again and has been training with the Leeds team of late.

Last Friday, Firpo returned to the bench for Leeds against Leicester at the King Power. He remained an unused sub with Sam Byram starring on the left side of defence since the 30-year-old returned to us.

But Firpo is fit again and is more than in with a shout of breaking into the side. Ahead of Saturday’s clash against Plymouth, he dropped a hint on his Instagram story, maybe suggesting he could start tomorrow.

It would be a bit of a surprise to see Firpo in the starting XI against Plymouth. But, given Plymouth are not fighting at the top of the Championship – Farke may be thinking he could play some fringe players.

But, given Leeds are so close to the international break, you would expect Farke to pick his best players to take on Plymouth. Byram has also had his injury issues and maybe, he needs a rest for the match.

Leeds will be without Stuart Dallas, Djed Spence, Joe Gelhardt and Pascal Struijk for the game – the latter needing surgery on his hernia after playing with pain. It will be interesting to see if Firpo starts.
