Dean Jones has told Give Me Sport that “a lot of teams” higher up in the Premier League table are “tracking” Leeds United star Jack Harrison – with the in-form winger’s contract still due to expire at the end of the 2023-24 season.
Harrison, 26, is back to his brilliant best since the arrival of Javi Gracia. After a spell of up-and-down form under Jesse Marsch, Harrison now has two goals and two assists in Gracia’s four Premier League games, since he joined.
It comes after Harrison almost joined Leicester City on deadline day in January, only for Leeds to pull the plug on a move at the last minute. The winger has been linked with the likes of Newcastle United and Tottenham in the past.
Speaking on Harrison, Jones believes the uncapped Englishman has the potential to be our best player when he is in form. He has certainly been up there during Gracia’s reign – and Jones says a lot of Premier League clubs are keen.
“He can be the best player in his team. They need that consistently between now and the end of the season to make sure they stay up. It’s not a coincidence he’s tracked by a lot of teams higher up the division than Leeds right now.”

It goes without saying that Leeds have got to tie Harrison down to a new deal. But the likelihood is that, like Robin Koch, Harrison is not going to want to sign a new deal until Leeds’ future in the Premier League is secured.
Why would he? Why would he tie himself down to a club that could end up being relegated. Hence the surprise, when Everton announced Jordan Pickford’s deal. Leeds will have to wait until they are safe before Harrison signs on.
