Former Leeds United assistant manager Karl Robinson is ‘in the frame’ for the vacant managerial job at Fleetwood Town.
That is according to journalist Alan Nixon, who reports Fleetwood are looking for a swift appointment and Robinson is among the names they are considering.
The Cod Army are on the lookout for a new manager after sacking former Celtic midfielder Scott Brown earlier this week, who left them second bottom of the table with just one point from six matches.
Fleetwood had been looking to sign Leeds midfielder Darko Gyabi on loan on deadline day but a move fell through after interest arose elsewhere, which also did not materialised in a move.
Robinson has been out of work since leaving Leeds back in May in the wake of the club’s relegation back to the Championship after three years in the Premier League.

Robinson was brought in at Elland Road in a last ditch attempt from Leeds’ former owner Andrea Radrizzani to save their top-flight status.
Alongside Robbie Keane, Robinson arrived at Leeds as part of Sam Allardyce’s coaching staff, as they were handed the final four matches of the season.
Picking up just one point from those aforementioned games, though, Leeds were relegated with a whimper, finishing five points adrift of safety in the end.
That said, Robinson is experienced at League One level and has already managed MK Dons, Charlton Athletic and Oxford United.
He twice guided the latter to the play-offs, only missing out on promotion in the 2020/21 campaign thanks to a 2-1 defeat to Wycombe Wanderers at Wembley.
