Joe Rodon has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that he loves Georginio Rutter with the Leeds United talent quickly becoming a fan favourite at Elland Road – and says he is always “bouncing around”.
Rutter has improved his form no-end after a difficult start to life at Elland Road in which he struggled to get going in terms of form, or minutes. He was criticised for failing to help in the fight against relegation.
This season, he has had a hand in eight goals in his 15 Championship games. Scoring three – including the winner against Leicester – and five assists. But he is creating attacks, rather than finishing them.
The likes of Cree Summerville, Dan James and Joel Piroe are benefitting from Rutter dropping deep and contributing to transition. The quartet are becoming a real lethal attack in England’s second division.
Speaking to the YEP, defender Rodon said he loves Rutter and said the Frenchman is always energetic: “Georginio makes me laugh a lot, he’s just so bubbly and funny, he’s always bouncing around the place.”

Rutter’s smile is infectious, and so is the way he is playing football at the moment. It was almost as if the day he clicked into gear, so did the rest of the team. Rutter is the attacking heartbeat of this Leeds side.
So much so, that Rutter has been included and recalled by Thierry Henry to France’s U21 side for this month’s international break. As long as he stays fit and Leeds can keep him, promotion is a possibility.
