Leeds United fans may be everywhere across the globe, but few probably would have expected Joao Felix to pick out the Whites as his favourite English side in an interview with Adri Contreras (via Mundo Deportivo).
Of course, Felix has long been considered one of the finest talents in Europe. He is only 22 years of age and yet, has already made nearly 200 appearances at club level.

In that time, he has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs. But Leeds have probably not seen themselves mentioned in an article alongside the Portuguese before.
That has now changed however.

Mundo Deportivo has put together a piece off the back of Contreras’s quick fire interview with the attacking midfielder.
He is reportedly asked about his favourite English side. And the name he has picked out is Leeds.
Leeds picked as Joao Felix’s favourite English club
We all have our different reasons for supporting Leeds. Unfortunately, it is not clear why Felix picked the Whites.
Given his age, the smart money would suggest that his appreciation started following Marcelo Bielsa’s appointment.
Felix was born in 1999 – 10 days before Alan Smith and Ian Harte scored in a 2-1 win over Bradford. And he was probably still a little too young when Leeds were threatening to reach the summit of the European game.
It is hard to imagine that the days of League One, Dave Hockaday or Steve Evans caught the eye of the youngster either.
Under Bielsa meanwhile, many neutrals took Leeds to their hearts. The Whites played amazing football and took on anyone in their way.
Bielsa is a beloved figure across much of the game. But it would be absolutely fascinating to learn whether that is indeed the reason why he chose Leeds in the interview.
