Jermaine Jenas has told BT Sport that Robin Koch was the “wrong man” for Leeds United in the penalty area with the scoreline reading 1-0 to Tottenham – as the Germany international narrowly headed a Rodrigo cross wide.
Leeds have been relegated to the Championship after three years in the Premier League. A 4-1 loss to Spurs was enough to condemn Leeds. But Everton and Leicester also picked up wins. A Leeds win would not have mattered.
The players were welcomed onto the pitch in front of a raucous Elland Road, but Harry Kane instantly put that noise to bed – scoring after 93 seconds. It was 2-0 moments after the restart, too. Pedro Porro scoring from the right.
Jack Harrison got one back – one of the few Leeds players to really show some fight on Sunday – but Kane put it to bed, instantly making it 3-1 after Harrison’s goal. At 1-0, Leeds had the chance to equalise through our no.5, Koch.
“A great ball from Rodrigo, but it falls to the wrong man. He’s got to score that. It was 30 seconds after Kane scored, it would have lifted the crowd,” Jenas said during his role as co-commentator on BT Sport, as Leeds lost 4-1.

Koch’s effort was narrowly wide – after a wonderful cross from Rodrigo. Sam Allardyce set Leeds up to keep a clean sheet and within a minute and a half, those plans were in tatters. Kane scoring after Harrison simply summed us up.
The inevitable then, has turned out to prove reality. Perhaps it is what Leeds need. An entire reset, from top to the bottom. One that includes a takeover, a sporting director, a manager and plenty of players leaving and replaced.
