Javi Gracia has told DAZN – as per Mundo Plus – that Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca should be given a chance by the Spain National Team this month with Luis de la Fuente set to pick his side for March’s fixtures in the next few days.
Roca, 26, has been in and out of the Leeds side of late. But, he started on Saturday in Leeds’ 2-2 draw against Brighton. It comes after failing to start a League match since the loss to Nottingham Forest, Jesse Marsch’s last game in charge.
But Roca has impressed at times this season, since joining the club from Bayern Munich. His time with in Germany did not go to plan, playing just 24 times over two years. But there is clearly talent there, having starred for Espanyol.
A bit of consistency, and perhaps some patience is required for Roca at Leeds – but the signs are there. Gracia spoke about Roca and believes he should be considered by Spain. Gracia is yet to win a senior cap, or even be called up.
“He has been, is and will be important. The importance of Marc’s participation in the team, from my point of view, does not have to be reduced to whether he starts every game or not. He is going to be important to us, without doubt.
“I would dare to say also on the National scene. He is a player I consider could help the National Team, if the selector deems it appropriate. He is a player who is at a very good level, beyond the fact that he plays for a minute or so.”

Spain have plenty of midfielders available to them. Barcelona duo Gavi and Pedri are expected to be the future of the midfield at Spain level for many years to come. But, Sergio Busquets has retired. There is need for a holding midfielder.
Is Roca the man Spain could turn to? He should be on their radar but he comes in to the international break having not played much in the last few weeks. But, he is more than likely to start at Wolves and a good display could turn heads.
