Javi Gracia has told Thursday’s press conference that Leeds United ace Crysencio Summerville is in “very good” form and has the ability to “make the difference” – when asked about the winger prior to Saturday’s Arsenal clash.
Summerville, 21, has really blossomed this season. Coming into the campaign with just nine games for Leeds at senior level, he has played 23 times in all competitions. He has four Premier League goals, and laid on two assists.
For all the hype that Willy Gnonto has generated, Gnonto has four goals and three assists – similar to our no.10. So, Summerville deserves praise, too. With Gnonto now out of the Arsenal clash due to injury, Summerville could start.
Gracia has got to decide how he is going to line up, likely to be using his 4-2-3-1 system again. Jack Harrison, Luis Sinisterra, Summerville and Brenden Aaronson will all be pushing to start. Four players, for three positions in the XI.
Summerville comes into the game after having a decent international break, scoring for the Netherlands U21’s. The Leeds manager raved about the ex-Feyenoord talent, a £1.3m signing – saying the winger is currently in good form.
“Since my arrival, Crysencio has shown a very good level in the games he’s played. Sometimes from the beginning, in others making the difference in the minutes he played. He is capable of doing important things, he has quality.”

Gracia gave an update on Luis Sinisterra ahead of the game and suggested the Colombian is not yet at 100%. That might mean that he is only brought off the bench towards the end of the game – meaning Summerville will start.
Arsenal are in incredible form. They have a team, studded with in-form stars. But Oleksandr Zinchenko likes to drift into midfield and that could allow Leeds to counter quickly on the right, if they can get the ball to Summerville.
