Javi Gracia appears to have confirmed what we all feared on Tyler Adams, with the former Leeds United boss suggesting that he is out for the season with injury.

Gracia was speaking to The Athletic following the news that he has left Elland Road after a brief spell as interim boss.

Unfortunately, it was a decision which needed to be made. The wheels had come off, with Leeds flying towards relegation at a rapid rate.

Gracia suggests Adams will miss the rest of the season

There were some moments which proved pivotal. And losing Tyler Adams to injury just before the international break was definitely one of those turning points.

Adams has been outstanding since his move to Leeds. And he provides real balance to the side. Leeds have conceded 25 goals in the eight games he has missed.

Gracia never provided much detail on injuries. And it seems that there was never any confirmation that Adams’ hamstring injury would rule him out for the season – though that was definitely the fear amongst supporters.

And Gracia now appears to have conformed that Adams will not be involved again in the final four games.

“The injury to Tyler Adams did not help us because we don’t have so many players of this profile in central midfield,” he told The Athletic.

“He is a player who really makes a difference when it comes to interceptions and recoveries and he really covers ground. It was a big blow to lose him for the season.”

Hopefully midfielder gets to play for Whites again

It is not a shock to hear that Adams is unlikely to play again for Leeds this term. And if anything, it is good to have some sort of confirmation from someone who would have known how bad the injury is.

The worry is that Tyler Adams may have already made his final appearance for Leeds. If the Whites go down, there is surely no doubt that he will be leaving the club in the summer.

Unfortunately, the midfield has not been the same without him. So it is going to take quite the turnaround to ensure Adams does not need to leave to play in the Premier League next year.
