Javi Gracia has given an update on Leeds United duo Luis Sinisterra and Rodrigo Moreno‘s fitness – in Thursday’s press conference – ahead of Saturday’s clash against Arsenal, stating both are ready, but not in the “best condition”.

Sinisterra and Rodrigo both came off the bench in the 4-2 win over Wolves last time out. It came after both had picked up recent injuries – Rodrigo, being sidelined after an operation on his foot. But both are now ready and fit.

Indeed, Rodrigo came off the bench to score against Wolves. Injuries to Tyler Adams, Max Wober and Willy Gnonto have rocked us since the win – with Adams undergoing surgery on his hamstring. He could be out for the season.

Thankfully, Sinisterra and Rodrigo are both available for his weekend’s trip to Arsenal. But Gracia admitted in his press conference on Thursday that neither are 100% or in their “best condition” and will need time to catch up.

“Luis and Rodrigo are improving their condition, but they are not in the best condition. They need more time, more training, more minutes. Luis is improving, feeling better and he will help us in the next games, and Rodrigo too.”

Javi Gracia gives update on Leeds United duo Luis Sinisterra and Rodrigo

Sinisterra and Rodrigo clearly have huge talent. Rodrigo got his 13th goal of the season at Molineux, reminding all that he still has that goalscoring touch even after surgery. A gorgeous goal, finishing well with a chip over Jose Sa.

With Gnonto ruled out – as well as Adams and Wober – Leeds need the likes of Sinisterra and Rodrigo, even if they are not 100%. Leeds do not have a huge squad and injuries are going to take their toll. But April is a huge month.

Seven games in the space of little over four weeks. Crucial games come in the next 10 games against relegation rivals Forest and Palace. Rodrigo and Sinisterra will start matches and Leeds need them to get back to 100%.
