On Tuesday, Leo Hjelde waved goodbye to Leeds as he completed a move to Sunderland and now the Whites have confirmed another permanent exit – prompting reaction from Jamie Shackleton.
Hjelde left for Wearside after Luke Ayling, Djed Spence, Lew Bate and Jeremiah Mullen also left the Whites this month. Now, forgotten midfielder Jack Jenkins has left the club for Halifax, permanently.
Jenkins, 21, spent the first half of the season on loan at National League North side Scunthorpe United, after playing four times for our Premier League 2 side. Eagle-eyed fans will remember his Leeds debut.
His only Leeds outing, which came in the shock 3-0 defeat to Crawley Town in the FA Cup under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa – alongside Kalvin Phillips. He has also had a loan spell at Salford City.
Now, Jenkins has left the club to join Halifax on a permanent basis, who sit tenth in the National League. He took to Instagram after Leeds confirmed his exit on Twitter, which ends his 16-year stint at Leeds.

Another leaves, albeit a player that was never going to add to his solitary senior outing. It has been a long time coming for Jenkins to depart Elland Road but now, the midfielder has left Leeds for good.
Jenkins has gone, then. Leeds meanwhile, are yet to bring any players in – other than the return of Sonny Perkins after a loan at Oxford United that failed. He is expected to remain in the Under-21 side.
Plenty have played with Jenkins in his 49 appearances for the second string at Elland Road, and they have responded – in the form of Joe Gelhardt, Charlie Cresswell, Jamie Shackleton and others.
