Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville have disagreed when asked if Leeds United will be among the three clubs relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season on The Overlap, with Carragher predicted we go down this season.
Leeds secured an important point at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, in what was our game in hand. It saw us go a point above Everton, with only goal difference keeping us above Sean Dyche’s side after Everton had beaten Arsenal.
It was a much-needed result after defeat to Nottingham Forest on Sunday. A game in which saw the end of Jesse Marsch. Leeds are yet to replace the American, with Michael Skubala taking the reigns at Old Trafford for the 2-2 draw.
Asked who will be relegated this season, Liverpool legend Carragher and Neville agree that two of the three teams to be relegated will be Southampton and Bournemouth. Carragher thinks the third will be Leeds, Neville is not so sure.
“Southampton, Bournemouth, Leeds,” Carragher said. Neville was then asked to give his take: “I worry about those bottom two [Southampton and Bournemouth], having seen Southampton on Saturday. I’m not sure about Leeds.”

Leeds have risen to 16th place in the League table, but are only a point above the drop zone. Everton are still in the bottom three despite a win over Arsenal – with struggling Bournemouth and beleaguered Southampton 19th and 20th.
West Have have shown signs of improvement recently, while Sean Dyche won his first match against league leaders Arsenal. Wolves, Leicester, Forest and Palace are above Leeds and are showing signs of improvement in recent times.
With Leeds yet to bring in a new manager, and the appointment absolutely pivotal, it would be foolish to think that Leeds are not in massive danger. Leeds have got to get it right with their next appointment – or, they go down.
