James Milner has taken to Instagram to pay tribute to Terry Venables following the sad news that the former Leeds United boss has died at the age of 80.
Milner posted a message on Instagram dedicated to the man who handed the midfielder his Premier League debut at the age of just 16 years and 309 days.

Unsurprisingly, there were messages from all over the football world on Sunday as it was confirmed that Terry Venables had passed away after a long illness.

Venables made more than 500 appearances as a player for the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. He also picked up two caps for England.
He went on to manage the Three Lions between 1994 and 1996. Obviously, the highlight came when he guided England to the semi-final of Euro 96 on home soil.
Before that, he achieved success with both Barcelona and Tottenham, winning both La Liga and the FA Cup.
And in 2002, he would take what would prove to be the final managerial job of his career as he was named as David O’Leary’s successor at Leeds.
Unfortunately, Leeds were a team in rapid decline by the time Venables was appointed due to the club’s much-publicised financial issues. And he would leave before the end of the campaign as the Whites flirted with relegation for the first time.
But one shining light during Venables’ time at the club was James Milner. Milner would become the then-youngest scorer in the Premier League shortly after his debut.
